The Sisters of the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart will hold a dedication of their new Sacred Heart Monument on Feb. 8 at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery gravesite of SDSH foundress, Sister Ida Peterfy.

San Fernando Region Auxiliary Bishop Gerald Wilkerson will officially bless the monument in a 3:15 p.m. ceremony at the Mission Hills cemetery located at 11160 Stranwood Ave. The 11-1/2 ft. tall statue, depicting a kneeling SDSH sister offering her community's emblem to a standing Christ figure, was designed by local artist and renowned stained glass designer Isabel Piczek
